User-submitted content policy
Chaptor allows authors to submit their books to the application. Chaptor will review the submissions and upload the books to the application. To maintain a safe and respectful environment for all users, we have implemented the following policy regarding user-submitted content:
Content Moderation:Chaptor employs content moderation mechanisms to review and monitor user-submitted books. However, authors are solely responsible for the content they upload, and Chaptor does not assume liability for any user-generated content.
Prohibited Content:Authors must not upload content that violates any laws or infringes upon the rights of others, including but not limited to:
- Content that is defamatory, discriminatory, or hateful.
- Content that contains explicit or graphic material inappropriate for all audiences.
- Content that infringes upon intellectual property rights, including copyrights and trademarks.
By submitting books to Chaptor, authors affirm that they have the necessary rights, permissions, and consents to distribute the content. Authors must not upload books that violate the privacy or publicity rights of others without obtaining proper consent.
Data Handling:Chaptor may collect and store metadata associated with user-submitted books, such as upload date and book information, for operational and analytical purposes. However, Chaptor will not access the content of user submits unless required for moderation or legal compliance purposes.
Deactivating access:Upon request of the author, Chaptor will deactivate reader’s access for a book. At the time of deactivating, if the book is borrowed by a reader, the book will be accessible only for the particular reader, for the particular requested period.
Retention and Deletion:Chaptor retains user-submitted books only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy. Upon request or termination of an author's account, Chaptor will promptly delete user-submitted books, unless retention is required by law or legitimate business interests.
By using Chaptor's services and uploading content, authors agree to abide by this User Uploaded Content Policy.
Account Deletion
We recognize the importance of privacy and data security. Users have the option to delete their accounts.
Data Removal Timeline:User account data will be permanently deleted within 60 days after initiating the deletion process. During this period, users can cancel the deletion request if needed.
Important Notice: Deleting your account will revoke access to our services, and users will need to create a new account if they wish to use our platform in the future. Account deletion is irreversible and results in the permanent loss of all associated data. Users are advised to download any essential information before initiating the deletion process.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update Our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify You of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
